Happy new year, everyone!
I'm back in school (alas!), and admittedly, having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Besides getting sick the first week of winter break, it was so nice to finally have the time to see and catch up with friends and go out of town (to Portland for Christmas, and then to Orcas Island for New Year's). I'll be posting a picture post of my winter break in the next week, but until then, I'll be reminiscing about all the sleep I was able to get during my vacation!
My new term contains two classes that are continuations of ones I took last term: disease processes and micronutrients (I took macronutrients last term). Micronutrients covers vitamins and minerals, while macronutrients covered carbohydrates, protein, and lipids/fats. Additionally, I'm taking nutritional assessment and therapy (the hallmark of dietetics programs) and nutritional counseling, plus two electives (!!): mindfulness-based stress reduction and herbal medicine making. I'm super excited about the electives and right now at least, I'm having a hard time getting excited about the other subjects. I know that will change, however, after a week or two back in the saddle, when school becomes second nature once again.
In the meantime, here is a picture of D and me on Christmas Eve Eve, when we celebrated with my family.
