Turning 30

Confession time: I'm tired of seeing people post lists of goals. I have certainly made plenty of them myself: do this by age XXX, do this by month XXX, have this by year XXX. But, as I'm approaching the grand age of 30 this fall, I've been thinking more and more about the things I've accomplished. Not many folks take stock and list their awesome achievements instead of where or how they fall short in life. I have made many mistakes and can count plenty of failures in my mere 29 years already, but I also know that I've made some pretty amazing decisions and am often very content with where my life is at.

In 10 weeks I will turn 30 years old, so it seems fitting to make a list of 10 things I will have accomplished by that time. What things are you proud of completing?

Without further ado, here is my list (in no particular order)!
By age 30, I will have:
  1. founded and run my own business
  2. run that aforementioned business without acquiring any debt
  3. met the love of my life and celebrated almost 3 years with him
  4. maintained a "presentable" career for 9 years (as a library assistant) before moving on to something new and completely different
  5. dealt with the death of my father; not necessarily an accomplishment, but something difficult that not many people have had to do by this age
  6. taken a road trip all by myself for more than 600 miles, one week's time, and 3 different destinations
  7. graduated from college with a B.A. in only 3 years and with honors
  8. gotten a tattoo on my wrist, which is something I wanted since I turned 18
  9. put an offer on my first house with my love
  10. tried to live nearly every single day to its fullest potential
