Easy Stovetop "Baked" Beans. Vegan. Gluten-free

I've already talked about how lazy I am. So obviously I don't want to spend more time than is necessary making things like baked beans. In fact, after tonight's successful experiment, I will never bake my beans again!

*Note: forgive the picture below. You know and I know that baked beans or beans in any form never look very appetizing. Please look past that fact and imagine how good they taste instead!

Stovetop "Baked" Beans
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. cooked pinto or kidney beans, drained
1/2 c. natural ketchup (i.e., no high fructose corn syrup or other gross ingredients!)
1/2 T. molasses
1/2 t. liquid smoke
1 t. toasted sesame oil
seasonings (salt, pepper, onion powder) to taste

Method:

  1. In a stovetop pan, combine all ingredients. Stir well and heat on medium heat until lightly boiling.
  2. Turn heat to low and simmer for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm.
That's it! I told you it was easy...now go to your kitchen and enjoy some tasty "baked" beans...
