I'm not much of a soup person, so I didn't really know how to proceed. However, I've been able to create some delicious meals with each variety.
Each container is right around 18 ounces, and is the perfect size for a one-person serving. Each soup is organic, gluten-free, vegan, high in fiber, low in fat, and GMO-free. A few are low in sodium as well, but to me, that just meant I needed to add more salt when I ate them!
According to the company, "Dr. McDougall's Right Foods offers more than 40 all-natural, heart-healthy meals that deliver on taste, nutrition and satisfaction. The soups are packaged in paper-based BPA-free packaging sourced exclusively from certified sustainably managed forests."
I added the Vegetable Soup to a crock pot "chili" and it turned it into a lovely bean and vegetable soup, and I morphed the Chunky Tomato variety into home-made ketchup, using this recipe as a guide. I ate the rest of the soups as-is. Even I, the least soup-y person out there, enjoyed each of these on-the-go packaged soups!
My favorite of all the soups was the Garden Vegetable. It had a great flavor and so many vegetables popped up in every bite.
Conclusion: although I am not usually a proponent of convenience foods, these soups proved to be healthy, delicious, and easy for on-the-go or quick meals. I would recommend these to anyone needing to fulfill any of those needs. Since most of them are bean-based, it took the guess-work out of soaking and pre-cooking dried beans beforehand, making the meals come together very quickly. Check your local co-op or natural foods grocery store for these delicious products!
