This past weekend the married couple wanted to hold a luau at the beach that included everything a traditional feast would, including pork and chicken. I decided to take care of my own appetite and started experimenting with a delicious canned fruit called jackfruit.
This stuff is fantastic! I didn't do any extra reading to find out any more about it, but after seasoning it and cooking it, it fooled even the most omnivorous in the group.

I used this delicious recipe as a guide, then I added 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke, and 1 1/2 teaspoon stone-ground mustard, which helped create an even more realistic barbecued flavor.
Wow, this is just like pulled pork - crazy!
