Soy Free

I have been striving to remove almost all soy from my diet. It's nearly impossible to do when I go out to eat, but in the meals I fix at home (which I do about 75% of the time), I have removed all soy products. That means, of course, no tofu, tempeh, tvp/tsp, tamari, edamame, and the copious amount of other soy items that had formed a permanent fixture in my diet.

I don't feel that I have an allergy to soy like I do to wheat, but I do feel immensely better when I abstain from eating it. In fact, I have now become sensitive enough that when I do accidentally ingest it I can tell immediately. It's hard to pinpoint exactly how I'm affected, but I just know that I don't feel very well and my energy level seems to decrease.

I have also started to play around with an almost completely raw diet. That is a post for another day, but I wanted to "forewarn" you that there will be quite a bit more posts on that subject on this blog in the future.

In the meantime, here is a random picture of a snail I saw on a hike yesterday. It was the first snail I've ever seen up close. It was so cute!!
