It's The End of the World As We Know It...And I Feel Fine

Beginning today at 6 p.m., I will be officially unemployed.

I can't wait!

It's about time; I've had my current job for 5 years and it's grown more than a bit stale. It was, essentially, the first job that stuck after college, so it's quite momentous to be quitting and moving on.

Don't worry - I wasn't fired, and I do have a job lined up (with benefits and everything!) starting on June 1st.

In the meantime, however, I've planned a little vacation for myself.

Starting with the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, OR.

Then, driving down to Klamath Falls, OR, via the Oregon coast Highway 101.

Next, I'll head on down to Sacramento, CA, to visit my great-aunt. I hope to make a stop in Napa Valley at some point as well.

My last stop will be the Bay Area via Berkley, and I'll spend time in San Francisco and Palo Alto as well.

My itinerary is somewhat vague (besides my initial reservation at the B&B), and that's absolutely purposeful. I haven't taken an extended driving vacation alone since before I got my current job, and I plan on doing lots of hiking, camping, picture-taking, food-consuming, writing, seeing friends and loved ones, and basically enjoying the hell out of life. I'm even planning on checking off a few things on my list of 28 things to do before I'm 28.

I can't wait to share with you along the way!
