Heartichoke Supper Club

Last night I had the most unique opportunity. I paid to have dinner served to me by some of the most talented vegan chefs in Portland. They don't own a restaurant, and they aren't chefs by trade, but they made some of the best food I've ever tasted.

This was the second event for the Heartichoke Supper Club, as it's called, and it featured a Spanish-inspired dinner with tapas, salad (with ingredients fresh from the Farmers' Market), soup, a main entree and dessert. Needless to say, by the end, I was stuffed. I basically waddled home after all the amazing food.

My pictures aren't the best (the lighting wasn't great, as it was set low to offer a nice dining atmosphere), but you can get the general idea of how awesome the food was.

the beautiful menu
grapefruit and blood orange marinated olives
potato pancakes w/ mojo de cilantro and romesco sauce; saffron pickled cauliflower and carrots

balsamic creminis and orange skewers

Barcelonian salad with roasted asparagus, tomatoes and local greens

white gazpacho with green grapes, garnished with fried garlic

chickpeas in zimino sauce with golden beets, served w/ baked saffron rice with roasted peppers and charred kale raab

citricos y torta de aceite de oliva con sorbete de limon, con almendras Marcona agave tostado
