Post-Cleanse Check-In

Well, it's been almost a week since I finished the cleanse, and I feel great! The only thing I have reintroduced into my diet is alcohol because, well, everyone needs a good blackberry brandy or a cocktail at the Bye and Bye now and then. Seriously, though, I thought I would rush right back into fried and processed foods, or at least grains and sugar, but I have not. I have eaten rice once and had two or so French fries the other night (ick! they were hot and slimy and oily and I only ate them because I was so hungry). I have even been eating more raw foods (by choice!). I haven't taken in caffeine, through tea or coffee, and I have stopped salting my foods. I haven't eaten out since getting off the cleanse, so I haven't had to worry about what processed "goodies" might be lurking in my food. It's been great. I feel great, too, because I've kept up with my pilates almost every morning and have not felt the compulsion to eat in such great quantities. It helps that it's sunny outside, too. I always feel better and eat less when there's sun to brighten my mood.

So, it's a funny outcome and one that I did not expect. I figured I would jump right back into the diet I had before, but it seems that health has won me over for good.
