Purple Potatoes with Cashew Cream
Our spread; the hosts also made an amazing smoked nut spread, a rice chex/cashew/pretzel mix, mushroom poppers, a relish tray full of pickled goods, and a delicious chestnut pate. Additionally, the hosts served a unique drink in champagne flutes: apricot brandy, pear nectar, and champagne. Yum. We also served sliced sourdough bread from New Cascadia Traditional, and used brown rice snaps for the dips and spreads.
Happy New Year, everyone! Hopefully, you entered the first day of 2010 with as much of a bang as I did. I think this is going to be a fantastic year, and a great start to a new [!!] decade.
