New Tempeh Reuben

I went to Papa G's Vegan Organic Deli yesterday for lunch. I always know I'm going to like their food, no matter what, and I'm especially intrigued by their "take" on things. Their mushroom stroganoff is truly out of this world, better than any meat-and-dairy version, as is their walnut "meatloaf", but some dishes don't strike my fancy quite as much because of their interpretational spin. Yesterday's tempeh reuben was an example of that. The potato salad that came on the side was great; it tasted like it had been made with real, live mayonaise and eggs, but the actual sandwich wasn't what I was expecting. Especially after getting treated now twice to Red and Black Cafe's reuben, I had a hard time accepting this one. Don't get me wrong: it was delicious, and had I not been looking forward to a certain taste, I would have had no problems with it whatsoever. But it was unique in the way that Papa G's is unique, and I think I was just looking forward to a little more uniformity. Definitely worth the price, though: $7.75 got me a ginormous, very filling sandwich, the potato salad, and a happy stomach.
