Burgers and Fries
With the weather staying lovely recently (it's been in the upper 60's and even the low 70's - and it's almost November!), I've been in the mood for burgers and fries. I don't want to eat the greasy stuff that I can get at Burgerville, even though it's technically vegan; plus, I enjoy being able to put my own touches on a burger. So, I have tried a few burgers and have come upon my favorite thus far: Amy's Quarter Pound Veggie Burger. Oh my goodness, it is so yummy. Add some fake mayo, lettuce, tomato, dash of mustard, and avocado onto a grilled bun, and you are in business. Plus, I also like to make my own fries by cutting Yukon Golds into strips and "frying" them in about 1 T. of oil for approx. 15 minutes until they are yummy and crunchy and good. What a great dinner! Also exciting: Amy's burgers are now sold at WinCo, a discount grocery store that usually doesn't carry much healthy and/or vegetarian/vegan items. How cool is that?
